Waterslide Decal Application Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Surface

Make sure your diecast model is clean, dry, and free from dust, oils, or fingerprints. A smooth, glossy surface is recommended for best results.

Step 2 – Cut Out the Decals

Carefully cut around each decal using sharp scissors or a hobby knife. Trim as close to the design as practical.

Step 3 – Soak in Water

Place the decal in a small container of room-temperature water for approximately 10–20 seconds. Remove and allow it to rest on a damp surface until the decal slides freely from its backing paper.

Step 4 – Apply the Decal

Position the backing paper near the desired location on your Ford Explorer model. Gently slide the decal onto the vehicle surface.

Step 5 – Adjust the Position

Using a damp cotton swab or soft brush, carefully position the decal. Gently remove excess water and air bubbles.

Step 6 – Allow to Dry

Let the decals dry completely for at least 24 hours before handling or applying a protective clear coat.

Step 7 – Optional Clear Coat

For added protection, apply a compatible clear coat in light coats. Always test compatibility on a spare decal first.
